Zach's Birthday Weekend

It's hard to believe my little guy is already one year old. He went from this to this one 12 short months.

In our new ward I made a friend who had a baby on the same day in the same hospital and the SAME doctor delivered our babies. What are the chances?! We decided to take our boys to a places called Jabbers on Friday for their birthday. Its basically a big padded room with toys in it. CHAOS! Pure chaos. Zach had fun and I tried to keep him out of the bigger kids way.
Later that night Jacob and I had to pick up a few things from Wal-Mart and just as soon as we walked in Zach exploded. Vomit everywhere. At first I thought maybe he was just too excited after he ate and his food hadn't settled well. We tried our best to clean him up but this was the one time I go into a Wal-Mart bathroom and there were no paper towels. Of course. We thought it was a one time thing but he was looking a little pale and his eyes were looking a little red and then it came again. All over the tape and eggs we put in our cart. So we high tailed it out of there. Out of all the places that Zach could have thrown up, I am SO glad it was Wal-Mart. This seemed perfectly normal for Wal-Mart. No one stared at us and by the time we were leaving Zach's first mess was already cleaned up. Then our poor little boy threw up 4 or 5 more times before FINALLY sleeping through the night.

On Saturday my parents came and we did some birthday shopping. Then Sunday was Zach's big day. Jacob started the day with a stack of blueberry pancakes for Zach's breakfast.

Later we had dinner with both sets of grandparents and opened presents. Instead of a cake smash, Zach had a banana cream pie smash, a Curtis tradition. He had a great day with his family and was all tuckered out by the end of the day.

On Monday he had a check up with the doctor and he was not happy. I think he's realized what goes on there. He weighed about 24.5 pounds (73rd percentile) and he's almost 32 inches long (95th percentile). That's a BIG boy!

We love having Zachary Bronco in our family. He's so happy and confident and makes my heart melt everyday.

Oh dear. THAT is quite the story. I'm glad they took care of everything at Walmart and that he got over it quickly. Happy Birthday Zach!!
